Believe In Yourself!
I find it interesting to hear the real ghost stories of others and their explanations. Lisa is an excellent example. She began by explaining her second experience. It freaked her out more than she was willing to admit. But, she can believe whatever she chooses.
“It was so scary,” Lisa began. “It happened again last night. I couldn’t sleep and finally around 2:30 a.m., I started drowsing off when I felt something sit on the edge of my bed. I opened my eyes to see what it was and I realized I couldn’t move and I got really scared and although I didn’t see anything, I heard a man’s voice tell me in my ear to relax.”
“No way was I going to relax with a strange man in my bedroom in the wee hours of the morning!”
Lisa was so scared, but she was trying to hit him, but she couldn’t move her arms. She noticed she was able to move one hand, The more she tried to hit him, the heavier the pressure got on her.
When Lisa was finally able to get her other hand to move, she tried striking out at what she believed to be a man. Then it suddenly went away — the pressure on the side of the bed and the pressure on top of her.
“I was so scared I couldn’t stop crying or thinking about it. I’ve taken a psychology course where my professor explained that there is a term for this experience. It’s called sleep paralysis… where your mind wakes up but your body hasn’t fully and you experience these reactions.”
Lisa went on to explain what her mother told her — never sleep with your arms across your chest because you would have nightmares.
She swears it’s true and goes on to explain that the pressure from the weight of your arms makes it more difficult to breathe while you’re sleeping and that in turn causes your mind to wake your body up the best way it knows how . . . to nightmares.
Do you believe that?
I Believe Another Story Is In Order
Here’s Mike’s story — he began by telling us he was familiar with sleep paralysis and night terrors and what he experienced was neither of these.
He had moved with his parents and siblings into a very old farm house. Shortly after moving in, he would hear male voices. Initially he thought it was a television or radio someone left on.
But that didn’t seem to be the case. Mike started waking up in the middle of the night unable to move or speak.
This went on for several months off and on, then it began to happen more frequently. He realized he was able to move after saying the Lord’s Prayer or one of the Psalms.
Mike told his mother about his experience. Fortunately, she believed him and confided that she had experieced some strange things since moving into the farm house.
As time went on and things progressed, Mike was waking up in this condition almost every night. One night, as it was happening, Mike’s mother walked into the room, He remembered seeing her walk in, but couldn’t move or talk until after saying a prayer.
Mike’s mother remembered hearing him talking, but couldn’t make out what he was saying. The important thing to note is that the closer she got to the bed. the colder the air felt.
Well the next night Mike awoke to the same thing happening, He was asleep on his side and felt someone put their hand on his shoulder which immediately woke him up. Mike was unable to move or to speak. He willed himself to roll over and confront whatever it was holding him down and to his surprise, he saw the face of an old woman, nobody, nothing, just her face and she screamed at him!
Mike recalled this made him angry. He shouted at her to leave him alone and go into the light.
She gave him a puzzled look and disappeared.
After that, Mike never had another incident. He did, however, do some investigating of the farm house, but wasn’t able to find out if anyone had died there or not.
Now, what are your thoughts regarding the two stories and Lisa’s conclusions and Mike’s conclusions?
