When Kay was 7, she lived with her parents and brother at their grandma’s house. Her grandma got her this interactive doll (Dollie) and a porcelain doll (Doll). Dollie would learn to talk and walk as Kay played with her. She always played with them both, but her favorite was Doll.
One day Dollie stopped talking. Kay ran crying to her brother saying Dollie’s dead and he said the batteries were dead and that he’d replace them for her. Later, while playing tea party with her dolls, Dollie fell and started talking gibberish. Kay got scared, grabbed Doll, and ran crying to her brother. He picked Dollie up and hit her head and said everything was better.
After that, Kay started playing with Doll and left Dollie in the corner. She heard this girl’s voice say, “He hurt me.” Startled, she grabbed Doll and said “Who was that?” and the girl’s voice said, “Me, Dollie”. Kay screamed and was huddled in the corner when her brother came in and asked what was wrong, Kay said, “Dollie talked”. He said she needed fresh air and took her to catch some turtles. When they got back, Kay went upstairs and put the turtles with her other ones. She heard Dollie say “I’m not trying to scare you, but I do want you to kill your turtles”. Kay yelled, “No go away!”. Dollie said, “If you don’t kill those turtles I’ll smash Doll”.
Of course, Kay got scared and immediately picked Dollie up and put her at the bottom of her trunk and put all of her toys and books on top of the trunk. Then she went to eat dinner with her family. After dinner, she went upstairs to find Dollie on her bed under the covers and Doll smashed up on the floor with all her Barbies heads ripped off. When Kay told her parents what happened, they didn’t believe her, but her dad knew she was scared of Dollie and agreed to take her to the dump right away.
They moved a few times over the years and every once in a while Kay’s dad would mention Dollie and she’d get scared (even at the age of 12).
The last time they moved was last year and Kay is now 17.
She was going through some old boxes and found Dollie. She immediately asked her dad why the doll was down there. He thought she would come around and want her back. Kay took her to the guest room and sat her next to some books. She figured she had just imagined it all.
Kay and her 6-year-old niece were sleeping in the guest room because Kay’s room wasn’t finished yet. The next morning she woke up, got dressed, and helped her niece pick out some clothes. The little girl told Kay that, last night, Dollie scared her because she said she wanted them dead.
Kay freaked because no one in the family talked about Dollie and she never told her niece Dollie’s name. She ran into the room, grabbed Dollie, and threw her outside in the burn pit. She got some lighter fluid and torched Dollie. Kay swears she heard yelling coming from the fire.
A fitting end to an evil doll! Thanks for stopping by!
